I don't really get the point either thanny. I suppose it's because Mother 3 is really popular in Japan and they are trying to up the sales potential of this game to the Japanese market. Oh well. I hope he's not replaced, but I'll enjoy the game even if he is.

I think what he means is that Lucas' powers might even be stronger than Ness' powers.

Lucas huh? Nice to see him joining the fight. Didn't ever cared for Ness, so he might be better. I don't think we're going to have 2 earthbound characters in, except if it is the minimum for each nintendo franchise. In that case, let's see Ridley already!

I knew Lucas would be in. Still 50/50 on whether or not he is actually replacing Ness.

Most of us knew that Lucas was going to replace Ness, it was too widespread a rumor with little warrant for its existence. It's not like someone just pulled it out of their butt having that much credibility.

Plus this falls in line with what the guy said who predicted about the returning character not making it. I think he was telling the truth, but Sakurai went into damage control mode, revealed Diddy instead of Lucas and forced a classic forum post recalling the statements since its hard enough to believe forum posts anyway, no matter how accurate they end up being. Just look how ready everyone is to dismiss it even though it has been 90% accurate months after the statements were made.

ness isn't getting replaced, period. 

Nothing was proved completely inaccurate that wasn't possibly tampered with. one of the original twelve was taken out. TRUE. all of the franchises from the last game are represented except one. TRUE. (game and watch, some thought ice climbers wouldn't make it) He said we would see a new and returning that same week. TRUE. (Diddy Kong and Peach) He said we would get confirmation on at least two of those facts that week with Lucas being the new character. THIS IS THEN ONLY THING HE WAS WRONG ON! IF Lucas was there, it would have shown that one of the originals were gone AND that there was a new comer and returning in the same week. That is because they pulled Lucas, and put Diddy up instead. Is it so hard to believe that Sakurai did some damage control and that the guy might have been telling the truth? This stuff happens all the time!

Oh and he posted a retraction say, "ha ha, stupid forum posted believed me." How easy is it to post a stupid message like that and have people believe you? VERY. It is extremely hard to post a genuine revealing message on a message board and get people take you seriously. Everyone WANTS you to be wrong because there have been so many fakes. Just look at you guys! Same thing. Sakurai knew that if he replaced Lucas with Diddy, threw a "Sike" message out there, that it would nip that little "leak" in the bud.

This "coverup" stuff happens all the time! Look what happened to the Europe Nintendo head who got the boot because he revealed to a magazine that Twilight Princess was going to use motion controls for fishing and swinging a sword! Nintendo denied it, everyone criticized and boycotted the magazine, the European head was forced to retire, and it turned out TRUE!

I do not think that guy should be discredited yet. The only thing he revealed that hasn't been seen is Game and Watch should not come back, which most think that he won't, and that there are 34 total characters with 14 newcomers and 20 returning, 6 not from the last game. That could take till Dec. 3rd to be shown!

EDITED:  Oh, I forgot Jiggly Puff.  Some don't think she will return.   I guess we will see.  I think she might as she is a pretty funny character and Sakurai loves his funny.  Plus she is very unique in the moveset as well as has been around from the beginning, but I better stop there or I will sound like almost everyone in this topic who has been completely wrong in their hopes.  I might bring this up again later if Jiggly Puff is announced though.  As I did with Ice Climbers and now with Lucas.
