HAHA as good as gears. This game has been stated to be "better than the trailer in parts", that statement was made by Guerrilla months ago. This game will piss all over gears in the GFX department. The gameplay however is what I really want to see. How fluid will it be? What framerate? and what scale landscape?

Your source does not seem very reliable. If these statements came from a third party, then there might be some weight behind those words. But since it comes from Guerrilla, let's just say I'll believe it when I see it.

Resistance? Nah. Resistance looks MUCH worse than Gears. This game will be definitely on the higher level.

BTW... you've picked up really poor "real" screen

I went looking for a good "in game" screenshot to match the target render and gave up after awhile ...

Many/Most of the screenshots available were obviously replays which do not reflect the quality in-game

It should look as good as Gears if not better, but Killzone games of the past have shown me that this series is really a joke.

Could you amplify this a bit? You meant gameplay, storyline, everything maybe? I wonder. This game (Killzone 1) is a best selling console game ever in my country. Personally I like climate of this franchise.

Just take a look at the reviews for this series. The PS2 Killzone averaged a 73.2%. Liberation for the PSP scored about an 80%. Check out Gamerankings.com. This site takes all the reviews for a game, and then takes the average %. The series was designed to match the Xbox's Halo, NOT because the developers wanted to make a great game, as one can see in the review scores.

What country do you live in, by the way?

I think the bad thing about Killzone will be the same or even worse in fact then Resistance. No matter how good, or pretty it is it will still get smacked around the sales charts by Halo 3, Resistance was smacked around by Gears, and Gears wasn't even an established franchise. Halo 3 is just too big and it's a sci-fi shooter, just like killzone. So Killzone will have a hard time selling the ps3. maybe it'll soothe over some of the halo hungry ps3 owners but otherwise it'll pretty much be dancing in it's shadow. The same thing goes for Metroid Prime, which was at least smart to release prior to Halo 3.

I do know this site. I think most players enjoyed this game mostly because of multiplayer so score is a bit confusing in this case. Killzone: Liberation isn't perfect. It's out of discussion but Multiplayer is really, really good. It's fresh.

I live in central Europe (you can call it also eastern Europe if you like) Poland.

@ fooflexible

Fact Halo 3 will own charts doesn't mean Killzone 2 isn't a great choice for PS3 users. Also I wouldn't care about Resistance as a threat for this game. There is always room for good FPS's. Take a look on X360 lineup. Fact Gears sold more than Resistance is pretty easy to explain. First - it's better and much more next-gen game. Second - userbase. Resistance penetrated PS3 market very descently (more than 30%) though.

Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

I think that Killzone can live up to ts target trailer, and even if it does not, it's still going to look incredible. When I get to play Motorstorm on an HDTV, it makes my mouth drop, even nearly 3 months on, and they can get to that in Killzone, with a good story and gameplay, then it will be great.

I beleive in killzone, the main problem (I found) was tecnical problems and those people will those mini grenade launchers. With the power of the PS3 and a little common sense, those errors should be eradicated

Here's a list of some of the stuff I want in it:
Physics based destructable buildings
Pilotable vehicles (flying and on the round)
Rico (again)
Large scale battles (not running around sewers alone like in Ressistance)
Great graphics
It to be released in November at the latest
