Forums - Sony - SONY - PS3 to sell 10 Million THIS Fiscal Year --- FIRST Signs of trouble??

It's a smart more realistic move. It'll look better for them if ps3 passes 10M.

OT: I know they're funny to laugh at but please just report those handful of people trolling and move on.

because it will look good for sony when they smash there target

Sony will easily meet there 10m target for PS3, it should sell 12m or more for 2008.

History lives on in our children and history is written by the victors. Microsoft invented the dual analogue stick. The first DVD based console was the Nintendo Gamecube.

When PS3 gets out of third then you can say something, the next few years are ours.

Do you know why? Because the God of the Israelites said it is our destiny. And you can't argue with destiny...or God.

History is written by the victors, and Sony won the generation that standardized dual analog controls. Xbox has won nothing so far, and is not looking to win yet. History will be written from a Nintendo perspective this generation.

As for the God aspect well allow me to share a quote with you. Matthew 6:1 "Be careful not to parade your religion before others, for if you do no reward awaits you with your Father in Heaven." Whil I don't really believe the bible, I am fairly well versed in it. Bringing God into a conversation out of left field would appear to be something Jesus, and by extention God would frown upon. I can argue with God all day long because I don't really believe the bible.

It's samrt move and you will see why at the end of next eyar,,,they can get up to 15 million in that fiscal year(2.2 million ps3 sold ,only 11 weeks into fiscal year 08).fiscal year 08 has lot's of game in it from GTAIV , MGS4, R2, KZ2, LBP, GOW III,maybe fianl fantasy XIII and so on.

The headline news will be "PS 3 did great this year ,,it even out performed Sony's expecatation by 50%"

now you tell me if that's a good move or bad move?

P.S. I think we will see a $50 price drop after E3 this year.

Please god tell me this will not happen!!!

End of the PS3's first financial year - PS3's in the channel approximately= 0 As it was sold out pretty much everywhere
End of last financial year PS3's in the channel approximately = 1.2 million
End of the financial year we're currently in presumably = 1.2 million

So even though the number they are shipping is only 0.7 million more this year
The actual sold to consumer number will be closer to 1.9 million.

Which still isn't great, but who knows, they may end up raising their predictions later

De85 was a bad boy for trolling.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

If some of the above people are correct I must say I am ASHAMED of SONY

what a CHEAP move..."oh we'll predict it low n then raise it later to make Ps3 look like its pwning"

I agree it's cheap, but sadly that's the way this world works. Just remember though that it's not just Sony doing stuff like that. MS took the huge RRoD hit a year or so ago to be able to report profits now, and Nintendo isn't even trying to raise production enough to satisfy demand because the longer their console is sold out the better they look.

Reasons like these are why I never trust official statements. I want to see audited financial statements beforeI believe anything from a large company.

Actualy, Nintendo is planing to raise production again. 2.4m/month is the number being tossed around.

After they raised it from 2.3/month a while ago. If we're lucky they may soon hit 2.5 per month. They're only making these token increases to be able to say they're trying to meet demand. The reality is that they want the Wii to stay sold out because it makes their product look even more popular than it already is.

Oh my little troll, my beautiful liitle troll!!

You have been a good boy come here and get your fish my good troll.

Care to explain why Nintendo would NOT want the Wii to be sold out. I raised a legitimate issue, and you in turn did nothing but attack me personally. Who's the real troll here?

I completley understand what your saying , he's a fanboy so he'll easy mistake anything that sounds anti-nintendo as an assault on the company.

Wii's being sold out would be good for the reason that it has a psycological effect on the consumer , they want what they can't have which will increase the desirability and value for money of the Wii, if Nintendo can make the demand slighty greater than that of their supply ( assuming the demand remains high) then it will result in long term profitability for Nintendo.

Actually, no. That's only good for short bursts like the release. If you are sold out for giant stretches of time people get fed up, you lose sales and you leave money on the table.

It's a horrible idea to be sold out for any long period of time if you can push more stock into the market.

I'm pretty sure most of the Oil companies or country that produce oil disagree with you :P

You do know that oil companies/oil producing countries RAISE prices when demand is up/supply down, right? I'm pretty sure that Nintendo is still charging the same price for the Wii whether or not demand is up/supply down. (I'm not counting ebay, because that is not Nintendo selling them for inflated prices.)

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

9.24 million PS3's last fiscal year (07-08). 16 million PS3's sold in the next fiscal year(08-09). (according to Crazzyman). PS3 dominationzzz.
