I agree it's cheap, but sadly that's the way this world works. Just remember though that it's not just Sony doing stuff like that. MS took the huge RRoD hit a year or so ago to be able to report profits now, and Nintendo isn't even trying to raise production enough to satisfy demand because the longer their console is sold out the better they look.

Reasons like these are why I never trust official statements. I want to see audited financial statements beforeI believe anything from a large company.


 You do know that Nintendo is increasing production by 600k a month right?

Add in the Zunes and Games for Windows into the mix and you have yourself a nice inflated number for the 360.


You said they didn't include it in the games division...BUT.THEY.DID.

Yeah Zune and GFW count for a little bit, but then i'm including PSP, PSone, PSX and PS3 sales in those figures too rather than any individual revenue so it's all even.

 


I asked a question. The question was more or less making their gaming division look more profitable. WHICH THEY DID.

 Actually, since not every 360 shipped up to that time had died, it made their division look less profitable than it actually was as they had recorded a loss which hadn't been spent yet.

It comes with the territory. Now that PS3 has lost the console war, the winners get to re-write history. Like when People used to say Sony invented rumble....only better.


In thatcase Halo 3 was the worst FPS ever and a huge flop/ It stuck the final nail in the coffin of the 360 that sold anemically the entire generation and finally died when there was no sales boost with the game.

Just don't shoot your mouth off about stuff unless you have at least checked the bare minimum of facts. Dual analog existed a generation before the Xbox.

The gamecube was the 1st console with DVD functionality even though it didn't use them... and the PS2 did and was on the market 1st! And MS inventing dual analogue when that was on the PS1...

I take it someone hasn't taken their medication tonight LOL!

 At this time they are more in debt because of that move then they have saved. It's more a negative to their overall stats, trying to twist the most honest company in the world is just not cool man. Not cool like molten lava.

Even if starting next week the PS3 was to sell for the rest of the year the same weekly amount as they did last year they still would be over 10 millions at this point...

They have sold 1.3 millions units so far in the quarter compared to 500k units last year in the same period...



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

 It's may be a bigger hit to the overall stats at present, but it's also a much bigger gain to their public image.  The kind of people who look at financiail statements or listen to reports about them are not the kind of people who understand the RRoD problem and steps taken to counteract it.

Actualy, Nintendo is planing to raise production again. 2.4m/month is the number being tossed around.


 After they raised it from 2.3/month a while ago.  If we're lucky they may soon hit 2.5 per month.  They're only making these token increases to be able to say they're trying to meet demand.  The reality is that they want the Wii to stay sold out because it makes their product look even more popular than it already is.
