Forums - Sony - MGO beta is over, what should Konami learn from it?

With the MGO beta ending yesterday, I must say after hours and hours of playing (lvl5), It was fun while it lasted. With that being said, it was still a beta test and Konami will have some improvements to make when MGS4 finally hits retail in 4 weeks. What improvements should be in store for MGO after playing the beta?

I will say:

-Less lag, it sucks to get shot in the head 1-2 seconds AFTER you kill the guy.

-Reduce range of shock knife, the range is insane, atleast make players earn more knife shock range by leveling up the skill.

-Make a skill that speeds up stun recovery or just make it quicker to escape from after stuned.

-Make the head's hitbox smaller, i give and take headshots all the time, even if I'm spraying.

-Increase autoaim lvl1 a bit more, it's completely useless as is.

-More slots as character level increases, i want more slots...

-Add some sort of octo-camo skill, it doesn't have to be 99% like snake's.

-Airstrikes, Why not?

-Helmet, an option to protect from one headshot.

-CQC counter, maybe it's there already... but i havent seen it.

-EDIT: a button that makes your screen turn  around 180 degrees immediately.

That's all I could think about now. What do you all think?

I'd say some people, not necessarily the OP, should learn that online isn't perfect right off the bat, so complaining about online problems, from Nintendo, Konami, or whatever, should take into account that they haven't really done something like this.

Even XBL still has some issues.

Sorry, if that seemed a little off topic, but I keep reading unreasonable complaints that the beta for this game, and online for Nintendo, shouldn't have problems.

I didn't really get too into it. I liked it for a while, but then issues with lag really started putting me off. Only one time was I in a game where the bullets I threw at somebody hit them nearly instantly rather than two seconds later as it normally was, but even then, it didn't last the entire game and I found the lag had returned. It would bother me so much that I'd shoot at a guy and hardly anything hits him. Even worse were times when I was shooting at a guy as he was running away behind cover and my bullets would still be hitting him when he's out of my view. Still, the most annoying would be times in a firefight with somebody else where I kill somebody and as their body hits the ground, I suddenly die from a headshot from that person.

I feel that the game could have some tweaks to controls and such to make things smoother because something like wall pressing felt entirely useless. Also, I swear people started using those FragFX half PS3 controller half mouse controllers because some people were getting headshots like every kill.

In the end, it wasn't bad, but I'm probably going to be content with the starter pack included with MGS4 unless they've at least fixed lag problems by then.

Right, no complaining, just suggestions and why you think that certain mechanic should be improved. It was a beta after all, as stated in my OP.

If you meant me, I don't even have a PS3. I was just commenting on how some act as though Nintendo wi-fi, and this beta, should be like XBL already,

I was talking to everyone. And i wasn't disagreeing with your previous post at all. Like I said, it was a beta test, so whining and complaining isn't warrented since everything could very well change, but suggestions are allowed. Either way, lets keep Wii and XBL out of this thread.

I rarely had problems with lag.

I was stabbed once when rolling over someone, so many there is a counter for that. CQC skill could/should be a factor there. Perhaps CQC skill should help with getting out of stuns.

Everyone would probably like more slots. I wonder how the balance would work.

Airstrikes? Eh...CoD4 kinda does that. I don't remember too many airstrikes in MGS...

Helmet for sure.

If I get more steady with aiming perhaps I'd be all for making the head hitbox smaller. Perhaps I should have sprayed more instead of trying to fine tune.

I don't think the shock range is too large. I played on a map that was knife-only and figured out the distances with that. I maxed out my knife skill pretty fast doing that custom setting.

The 1up Show mentioned being able to play as other characters like Snake, so that should change things up a lot. Perhaps they have more slots or just special abilities that add up to more slots like Snake had.

I was just clarifying my comment, in case you were asking me.

Since I haven't actually played it (which is why I'm not comment directly on it), all I have to say is that they should try to work the servers for other games, so they won't have to pull online for this later, as they did with Subsistence.

MGS4 has airstrikes in the trailers...from those strange raven bombers, and there were many helicopters in the trailers as well as MGS1 when liquid tries to bomb you with the Hind.

As for the knife comment.... that's what all you knife users say.. but what about us?!? the people that get stabed by you guys?!
