This always all has been the case. When magazines announced that there will be a 3D zelda on N64 half of the gamers were pissing in their beds of the excitement. And it is not hard to find 100 people who think that Zelda OOT deserves the high review scores and 100 who think it don't deserve it. The same with GTA IV.

But when reviewers a half year ago were giving high review scores to Nintendo games SMG, Brawl their was no problem at all with those reviewers but when those reviewers give high review scores to a non- nintendo game it is like   'The Gaming Review industryis just biased, they got money,'

Pathetic, and yes you can say the same now with some users on this site who said the review system sucked when some PS3 games got low scores (Heavenly Sword as big example) and now totally agree with how the gaming review sites/magazines work..

We will agree to disagree. Just about everything in the game is improved. Disagreeing with 1 game isn't a good reason to suddenly doubt all reviews, though. MGS is a sure-fire series.

yep, and since clicking on this quote button I see shams is also in on the hate. shams: when sequels to highly rated games are out, why would you WANT them to suck and get lower scores?

Guys this game has been in development for 3-4 years ,,,it's not just ANOTHER game,,it's THE game that lots of people have been waiting for,,,10 is normal for this game,,as I m sure it will get lot's of 10 and 9,,,,well except for gamespot which will give it an 8 and says snake has identity crisis or some similar nonsense

who cares about the reviews anyway? people are going to get this game regardless of it's score. gt5:p got around 80% avg on reviews, yet that's selling really, really well. as long as the game is good enough to play, it will sell.

I kind of felt that way after SMG, but when the best game I have played this gen (GTA4), got the best review this gen, I regained my faith in the review system.

I am glad it got a 10, can't wait to play it. But as Windbane said, they can only release the review, because it's a 10.

I expect very high scores for this game, but will wait and read a review that was not hand picked by Sony. 

Oh, and I guess "Reel Fishing" is out for me... I expected better from that game! (j/k, never heard of it). :) 

We all know this was always going to be a "quality" production - even taking ANY of the old MGS games, and upping the tech to PS3 level would result in a '10' (when scoring in "1" increments).

And considering this came from the Official Playstation Magazine... 

As I said - call me when it gets something *other* than a 10 - or at least its reviewed by a publication that gives scores in 0.1 increments. And if it still gets a 10, try 0.01 (1%) increments.

Soon IGN will be awarding scores like this:

Presentation: 9.8965 

Gfx: 9.99931

Sound: 9.9912

...

Overall: 9.9999991

(etc)

(I didn't mention ANYTHING about the game NOT deserving a 10, or saying ANYTHING bad about the game - I'm simply saying that giving MGS4 a "10" when scoring in 1 increments doesn't tell me ANYTHING about the game that wasn't obvious - it doesn't help with any comparisions to other games...).

I'll have my eye on you tonight... :(
