Watching a bunch of grown men act like children while claiming to be mature is always amusing.

Personally I never understood the point of the original Section 8 and thought it should just be wiped out, including the current incarnation. It's only value is that the posts don't show up on the front page and so topics can be discussed that wouldn't be appropriate for public viewing. That said I never saw anything on there that couldn't just as easily be discussed in OT and the initial impressions were of some kind of wannabe cult that wanted to waste yet more of my time. I get far more value from 1-on-1 conversations with people on this site (not to mention *actual* friends) through AIM or Steam than I would from posting on yet another forum. I don't really get how you somehow feel more comfortable posting personal information among 50 strangers than among 500. I've never had any trouble having a conversation here that I felt would somehow be solved by only talking to certain people. Personally if you can't talk about something here because other users are causing problems, then those users need to be disciplined rather than abandoning the whole site. But I don't really care about an external forum, do whatever you want on your own time.

But advertising/recruiting on this site is against the rules. Harassing other memebers and disrupting threads and spamming is against the rules. You may claim that you're not doing these things, and probably most of you aren't, but we have evidence that at least some of you are, including several that should probably be banned already. Never mind the fact that you all asked ioi to put in tons of work to create this forum for you and then you basically thumbed your noses at him for it, if one of you gave that kind of attitude to me you'd bet you'd soon be gone. With hundreds of users on the site banning a few bad apples that end up detracting from the community more than they add to it is only good for the site (hence leo-j, Gballzack, etc.).

There are far more constructive ways to go about this. Other forums I've been a part of had the ability to register groups and give each group a forum, which could be listed publically or kept hidden. Would that not be a much *better* solution than the stupid crap that has gone on here the past month?

Okay rules are edited for no insults to VGC or it's members and no sigs or anything flaunting the site to VGC members. Recruiting is stopped and the site is locked in with its current 21 members as just a place for friends to chat. We should be able to move on from this mess now.

Please discuss this suggestion here and see if it meets what you guys are looking for.

The benefit would be that we would be able to benefit the entire community while still giving you guys your private space and control.

It's also a much cleaner implementation of the Section 8 concept and as a bonus isn't limited to just one group so the elitism/exclusivity concerns are lessened.

There is no way you will find that kid it is not part of this site plus you have to be a member to view the site the forum is locked.
