If we do I hope it's turnbased. Idk why all the jrpgs are heading to real time. I love turn based rpgs.
I couldnt agree with you more. FFX battle system would be fine for a game like this, imo.
I'm going to say no, just based on the way SE is treating the PSP.

What do you mean? They released an FF1, FF2, and FF Tactics remakes. They recently released ff7 crisis core and still have an FF fighting game and a KH game, I dont understand where you're coming from. Especially since the psp has been selling so well in japan lately.

Well compared to the support they are giving the ds he's right. There is still support there though.

That's the problem. They've been releasing remakes, ports and rehashes. Their utter disinterest in the PSP is so appauling that I, as someone who doesn't currently own one, even finds their behavior atrocious. This is why I for the life of me cannot understand why more PSP enthusiasts are not angry by their treatment of the PSP.
Square Enix was so unmoved and unimpressed by the PSP that most (if not all) of their rehashed ports and remakes were done by TOSE, an outsource company. They couldn't be bothered to do them instead!
As such, the remakes and ports have oddities that really shouldn't be there. FFT has longer loading times and bugs in return for pretty FMVs and some bonuses. Valkyrie Profile suffered the same fate. The Star Ocean games were done by TOSE also; instead of expanding them they are built off of a slightly modified SO2 engine and a lot of things from the second game are simply copied and pasted into the first (and vice versa). FF1 and FF2...are people really using these? As a defense? Are these not the 5th or 6th versions of these same games? A slight increase in graphics is not a real justification for releasing these games again at what are most likely absurd prices by now.
The last bastion for apologists are FF7, KH, and FF fanservice on a UMD. I constantly hear how these are "big" games that justify the PSP and washes away Square Enix's non-support of the platform. But really, a few original efforts once every few years? Crisis Core was announced back when PSP launched, we're just now getting it in 2008. KH and Dissidia in...2010? KH is gracing every handheld platform from the DS to the mobile phone, the only thing worse would be for the PSP to get left out entirely. Perhaps these games are enough to turn a few heads, but the fact that all of their original efforts are based (only slightly) on their biggest cash cows tells me that they have so little faith in the PSP that the only titles they would work on themselves are the ones based on properties gauranteed to move units. Generally that is not a good sign, and increased PSP hardware sales are not going to change this.

Well a FF13 spinoff will be a rehash. So...
Either way, i'd expect it. I expect at least one FF13 game for evert system not 360. (Maybe even on on 360.)
Seems like they want to really make FF13 last.

I dont know why they didn't make FF13 Agito that card game for the DS or PSP instead thier making it for the cell phone.
There's chance.
Greater chance there'll be one for the DS
slimmer chance there'll be one for DS and PSP.
Either way, if a spinoff ends up on either handheld, I'll get it.
