1. $599 for ps3

4. 360 hardware issues
5. ps3 not going after 3rd party support exclusives.

These three and also MS declaring since the beginning a 3 year or little more short lifecycle for XBox 1... And Sony even immediately told them kindly that it wasn't only a mistake, it was a suicide... Like talking to a brick wall: other issues apart, MS actively helped strangling its creature in the cradle.

Most mistakes people have said are mistakes in gaming but for the company that did it. The only huge mistake that altered the whole gaming Universe was ET for the Atari 2600. It sucked so bad that it took nearly a decade for gaming to recover.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Good Lord, I forgot about that controller. What a mess.

RRoD as your number one? That doesn't make much sense given the history of the industry.

ET is unfairly blamed for the video game crash. Yes, it was a terrible game. Yes, it damaged the industry. There were also a dozen other things that caused the crash in 1983 that had more of an impact than ET.

Besides, it didn't take nearly a decade for the industry to recover. Games were bigger than ever by 1989, a mere 6 years later. It was pretty much recovered by 1987 or so when the NES started selling like crazy.

Maybe my order is a little off but as scary as this is, i think the xbox brand is gonna be even more hurt by this than we know now, like at the launch of the xbox 720, and yes the 5200 controllers were awful, got one and it had 3 controllers and none worked, the the system died a couple months later...

I liked the virtual boy,but I never own one why was it a mistake?

What is your list of the worst mistakes made in gaming? So many to choose from, but what is your list?

Mine is...

1. Virtual Boy
2. Nintendo saying "screw off" to third party developers with the N64.
3. Sega abandoning Saturn third party support in favor of forcing the Dreamcast.
4. Capcom disolving Clover Studios
5. Blu-Ray as the standard for the PS3
6. UMD

I know, not much of a list, but maybe you can do me one better.

#2, third party left nintendo, not the other way around.

#3, You're thinking of 32x in favor of Saturn.  Sega abandoned the Saturn in America because it wasn't selling, not because they tried to force the dreamcast on people. (Like say, MS did with its xbox brand)

#5, I'd say price rather than Blu-ray

#6, Are you refering to movies or the fact that the games are on disks?

The Wii.

Easily the worst console ever from Nintendo.

I agree with the second sentiment but I'd hardly stoop to calling it a mistake...

Yup, it prints money so it's not a mistake.
My complaint with the Wii is it's lack of power.
Basically I agree that the console sucks for it's time(which explains why it's Nintendo's worst console to some people) while the controller is great.
