It looks like maybe we should hold off on saying R2 isnt going to look completely amazing. With its vivid colors and changes in lighting its true beauty might not be seen until a clear direct feed video is posted of it in action.
Also remember that this is the multiplayer component and as such will have actually slightly worse graphics and have some bells and whistles turned off to accomindate the added stuff going on the screen with 60 people running around, this was done with GTA IV and other games this generation, Im sure its going to be done with this one too.
Plus if you listen to their podcast, you would know they are currently only on their 2nd or 3rd graphic pass for in game art assets. They say on that they are about half way to where they want to be. Now I just need to finish the first Resistance.
I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.
