Well, I'm not going to say that you don't have a right to the opinion that Metroid is bad as an FPS, but I also have the right to my opinion that you are certifiable. After the Prime series I have no desire to ever play Metroid in 2D again. It was just a generic 2D sidescrolling shooter until Prime turned it into something truly unique and amazing.

It's true that the transition to 3D often doesn't work out well (IMO Final Fantasy was never the same after VI), but Metroid is about as close to perfect in 3D as any game has ever been.

Metroid isn't bad as an FPS but it's not nearly as revolutionary as it was when it was 2D (saying it was a generic shooter is completely baffling to me, it completely changed gameplay on the NES).

I also have a hard time calling the 3D gameplay in MP "as close to perfect in 3D as any game has ever been". While it's a good game, it's nothing even remotely new and frankly, I thought some of the elements in 3D were too easy and kinda weak.
