| MikeB said: @ twestern Lair isn't the masterpiece it could have become. Like I said before I think the game is unique and well above average though. Four Famitsu reviewers gave Lair a 9, 7, 8 and a 9. Maybe the US Sixaxis controls are broken or something, that would explain the Super Ruba Dub score this fun and simple game got from IGN. (Had tons of fun with my girlfriend) IMO some review websites are very inconsistent with regard to their criticism and highlighting of strong and weak points (GameSpot) and are clearly biased towards systems. IGN is IMO much better overall. |
You know, I'm not going to argue with your opinion. You may like the game and you may love the potential but that doesn't change the fact it's just a bad game. Everyone has their bad games, movies, whatever they like (personally, I'm a fan of Bio-Dome) but just because you like something or had fun with it doesn't mean it's actually good.
Also, Famitsu is worthless. It's already been said many times over that they give review scores based on what the fans want to see, not what the game actually is.

WHat you're arguing is entirely subjective. I personally love the artstyle of Killzone 2 (though not Gears so much, as it has that radioactive glowtypical of so many UE3 games), where as you favor a more cartoony look.
Killzone really just has a more realistic look (thoguh quite stylized at the same time). In a real war, running around in bright pink or blue armor is just asking to get shot.
