Ok between June 15th and somewhere around August/september. I will be hosting a Video Game contest.

This is to drum up business, and give name recognition. I have other projects and events I am planning like wine tassting, crabernet room and other upper class events. But, I finally made this concrete this morning. The latest wil be a date in September, anyone have any ideas to help soften cost?

This is what I have in place so far:

G4 TV to video (whether they air it is up to them)made contact, giving them updates as they arrive to video the event.

Made contact to Sony, Nintendo, MS, all look forward to donating prizes(key chains, dolls, banners etc.)even systems. I do not know what the cash prize should be or age restrictions. does any one have any ideas to add?

Be honest and sincere as everyone I am sure would like it to be a million dollar prize etc.

Entry fee? how much?

This will be held at a Hotel, I will advertise it with media as well as local video game stores.

What should the contest consist of, 1 system only like only Nintendo, or MS or Sony, all 3??

and the contest game, which game/games should it be? rules? Should there be 3rd party games as well? if so they could co-op for advertising and have freebies to give away as well to help promote themselves?

Ideas people? Have i left anything out? Do I need to implement anything? I have coordinated manycharity dinners, but this is the first time I get to do something that I do when I don't work, play video games. It would be fun/cool not only to host the event but award the prizes. This will be the 1st annual event and I want to get it right the first time!

Any ideas? I was thinkin bout having motorstorm, excite truck, or the other racer dirt form MS, winner take all? or should it be a time trail ??fighter on 1 system?

Depends on how many prizes you have you could have a Wii sports like boxing or bowling and then give the winner a wii, motorstorm and give the winner a ps3 and I don't know maybe Forza2 and give the winner a xbox360.

Hmm intersting I never really thought aout wii sports? i want it to be a 2 day event and at least a 500 cash prize along with free systems games, freebies, lookin for more to entice people and to be worthy of it to be televised.

With all the hype around Wii it could be entice people. I mean most people have already seen a Xbox 360 and could buy the PS3 if they could afford it, but finding a wii could be harder. To have a game where most players have the same chance of winning, instead of one that a hardcore player can win might be able to bring more people in. It would kinda disappoint hardcore gamers though, depends who your audience is.

Can you have a Street Fighter 2 Turbo arcade cabinet there? I want to play people on that.

See this is what I need, all ideas, I want to do it right the first time so people walk away and say whoah?1st annual? I can't wait til next year! Or even like a history section for each Conole company that is there!
