Forums - Gaming - 20 Exclusives for the DS this year - Read on (and see why you need a DS)

Ninja Gaiden, Zelda, FF:CC and Phoenix Wright for me.

Is FF tactics more less like Fire Emblem?

Around the Network

Yes, I believe FF tactics is much like the Fire Emblem system, but you might want to get someone else to confirm that, as I wouldn't say i'm 100% sure

One thing I just noticed when I reread the Simcity paragraph made me very interested, you blow into the microphone to put out fires.. don't tell me that isn't creative

Don't take me the wrong way, but can the DS do anything other than RPG's?

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

great list of games full of rpg´s there is only one game id like to point out that is missing sonic rush adventures thats the best sonic series in the past decade and its a ds exclusive the first one was a blast so this might be good to

both ds and psp are getting great games this year probably the best year ever for handheld gaming

Not sure why it wasn't mentioned in the top games, but others have said it in this thread including me, because it is my favourite DS game to date, but Elite Beat Agents is an excellent game that isn't an RPG, other than that, yes there are plenty -- just look at the Mario games, Metroid, Expanded Audience Games/Programs, games like Clubhouse, etc.. you are very correct, however, to point out that this list is somewhat full of them

Man I love the DS but recently I've been playing older games: Mario Kart, Metroid, Tetris, Brain Age, and so on. I also just recently picked up Nintendogs for the first time and I've enjoyed it for the occassional 10 to 15 minute gaming session. But now it's going to be time for me to buy some of these newer games. Zelda of course I'll get. Ninja Gaiden definetly looks promising. Brain Age 2 is an easy buy for a bargain price. And three Final Fantasy games oh my. I'll buy 1 or maybe all three of them depending on reviews. Right now understandably nothing wants to compete against Pokemon on the system, but the second half lineup looks extreemly strong.

Mega Man ZX Advent

Advent is the 2nd game in the Mega Man ZX series (ZX is the 6th Mega Man series in case you were curious). This Mega Man game has 2 different story lines. The first follows Grey, a 14-year-old failed experiment that was recently awakened from cryogenic slumber. The second follows Ashe, a 15-year-old ruin hunter that works for Legions, a government organization that oversees world affairs. As with all Mega Man games the heroes have abilities and attacks that evolve throughout the game, in this case through the use of battle suits called Biometals.

Surely, they can make Megaman look better than this.  I'm not impressed at all by he visuals that are being done of quite alot of the DS games.  It's as if they don't even try.  I've seen better on the Megadrive and SNES than some of these visuals.

It's about time, Nintendo started some kind of quality control on DS games....some developers seem to think they can produce crap and sell like 500k or 1m copies, make loads of money, yet only take a few months to make the game.

Very poor...get a grip!

Have you tried Elite Beat Agents? It is a very good game. Lots of fun and replay value.

Yeah. This second half lineup is amazing. I agree that Pokemon is pretty much all you need this half of the year. I know I have over 300 hours already in the game. Looking forward to Zelda and Brain Training 2.

If you want nice graphics, just get a PSP...the DS won´t have great looking games, except for a few. It is a handheld anyway, graphics have never been important for that market, and the difference between DS and PSP sales prove that right.

There's having really nice graphics and good graphics.  The DS can producevery good side scrolling graphics.  I see no reason why a handheld that has the power of a N64 cannot produce better platform graphics than say a Megadrive (Genesis) or SNES.

Even compare New Super Mario Bros to the Megaman graphics....it's night and day.
