I know thats a general topic, but it fits my idea. Today i was perusing CNN as I do everyday (so I can stay informed on the worlds events) and I came across this article

Basically it talks about a post war revolution in comic books that started to have violent imagery (one of the examples is Tales from the Cript) and the country went up in arms because it was causing crime and degerancy (or so they said). The more things change, the more they stay the same. I hope we can all see the commonality with video games today. They were holding mass burnings of these comic books!
I guess my point is that we as a society can blame our problems on lots of things: rock and role, movies, video games etc... when these things do not cause children to go crazy and start blowing things up. Instead of addressing problems such as parenting and education and poverty we focus on symptoms rather than the disease. I guess that is all i have, i just wanted to point out this parallel!
