No. MGS is consistently overestimated, from a sales perspective, and GTA is one of, if not the, most popular series of our time.

people have neem waiting for MGS4 for a long time now, and the hype building up around this game is big. i would not be suprised if this game outsells GTAIV on the ps3. It will defo move more hardware tho for obvious reasons i dont really need to rant on about. But however by the end this generation GTAIV would have sold more than MGS4 because the gta game is going to be the one with the longer legs.

japan loves mgs4 so i think its safe too put 700k in japan.......thats a 3too 1 ps3 in japan

Long term... MGS4, if it stays the primary PS3 bundle all the way through the holidays, but it will be close.

Unless the bundle is long term I think MGS will sell less software and less hardware. No PS3 game has had a bigger boost than GTAIV and none will until FF13 comes out.

MGS4 will have trouble breaking 1.3 million worldwide, let alone in NA.

MGS4 barely breaks 1 million lifetime in Japan.  700k first week is insane.

If we are talking worldwide comparing MGS4 sales to GTA4 for the PS3, I would say MGS4 has a very good chance. Anyone that has been holding off, even after GTAIV, will jump at the 80GB MGS4 bundle.
