Am I the only person who thinks that op is trash and is insulted by it? Why would you purposely misquote the word of the Lord like that and leave passages as if to give credit to your words. Your suggestion that a women be stoned because she didn't scream loud enough during a rape is simply untrue. "But if out in the country a man happens to meet a girl pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. Do nothing to the girl; she has committed no sin deserving death." (Deuteronomy 22:25-26). What you were refering to in the previous sentence involves a virgin pledged to be married sleeping with a man whom she is not betrothed. Nowhere does it mention rape. Your whole post continues on like this, and to suggest you don't help someone with a broken leg on the Sabbath is wrong. People were to avoid work on the Sabbath, mending someone's wound is not work. Certainly you could have gotten your point across without your supposed "quotes" from the Old Testament.

Sorry to throw the religion on you guys but I had hoped someone more qualified might have mentioned something first and I am not as knowledgable as I'd like to be when it comes to the Bible. But I still wanted to call out the things in that post where I've learned the contrary.

Also, don't forget the ancient world was a rough place. Don't assume the Jews were the only violent race in those days, and it was going to take violence then to do what their Creator had asked of them. In fact I don't recall hearing about any civilizations who succeeded by abstaining from Violence.
