I'm a hardcore gamer, and I am buying for the innovation and for the fun of the game.

Not sure if I am picking this up yet, but I do have to say your post implies that this will really only appeal to girls...

I am a Gauntlet Adventurer.

I strive to improve my living conditions by hoarding gold, food, and sometimes keys and potions. I love adventure, fighting, and particularly winning - especially when there's a prize at stake. I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

If I buy Wii-Fit it'll probably be because my family enjoy that kinda thing.

My girlfriend bought it, but I would also have bought it.

Why? Because it's something new, it's innovative, and fun! It's also a nice way to do something healthy, it makes you more aware of your body.

I recieved it as a gift. It is an awesome game everyone in my family loves. For the first time (as far as I know) my mother played a game without me, that was Wii Fit.

are you buying it because you want to lose some weight?
That is a side point, but no, the major point is that it is an awesome and fun game that I can play with my family, even moreso than Mario Kart Wii.

for your sister, girl or mom?
No, it was from my sister to me, and my sister is actually the one who uses it the least. I use it the most, but my parents use it a lot.

future usage in others games?

Yes, I could have traded it in (my sister would have been OK with it), and was myself pretty doubtful about the game, but I kept it as it could be fun, and future usage of the balance board seemed obvious.

I need some good answers because I really don't understand the hype for wii fit.

Too bad, because it is a great game, if you can just manage to get past your ego like I did, and play the game. Unlike many other games, you can describe it in one word. Fun.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

^^ great answers thanks.

I'm certainly don't need to loose weight, and I'm not the type to exercise. I still want Wii Fit though, its just a different type of game.

It's sort of like buying Guitar Hero. Do I play guitar in real life? No. Do I have dreams of being a rock star? No. It's just a totally different game that looks pretty fun to play.

lose some weight and future usage in others games

Consoles LTD, end 2009, end 2010 - prediction

Wii -  68 million, 90 million - Wii HD in late 2011 - $249

360 - 38 million, 47 million - 720 in late 2010 - $299

PS3 - 31 million, 43 million - slim PS3 in mid 2009 - $299

If you are a hardcore or casual gamer why are you buying wii fit? I have several reasons for buying it. My entire family will definietly use it in our fitness routines. My wife (a former non gamer, now an extremely casual one) will use this more than any game she's ever played. My kids are counting down the days.

are you buying it because you want to lose some weight? Well, I would like to lose a little, but I would also like to tone and get some cardio in as well. But I am buying also for my family to use as a fitness tool, and for us to enjoy together. I also can't wait to see what other games can do with the balance board as well.

for your sister, girl or mom? For myself and my entire family.

future usage in others games? That's part of it.

Yes, I could have traded it in (my sister would have been OK with it), and was myself pretty doubtful about the game, but I kept it as it could be fun, and future usage of the balance board seemed obvious.

I think the fact that you aren't getting the hype might just mean you like traditional gaming (and that's not a bad thing). I've been a traditional game player for many years, I love that Nintendo is changing everything about how a gamer provides input in a game (and now getting tradtionals off the couch as well). What Nintendo is doing this gen is now not only changing how games are controlled with motion control, but also making your body and movements part of the gaming experience. I've been playing traditional games since the 2600 and Coleco Vision, owned every major console (including PS360) and find Nintendo's new control options an amazing change.

These new changes are changing gaming in a way that has not been done, yes it opens up the market to non gamers, but it also immerses a traditional gamer deeply into the game as well, Something I will support on day 1 every time if it's done in a quality way. I can't wait to see what innovations come next.

BTW, I also appreciate other innovations in gamer input as well. The Guitar Hero controller was brilliant, as the Rock Band drums, DDR pads, Eye Toys, and the DS (which I was very cautious about at first). I still appreciate traditional controls, but love the out of the box thinking that can take us to another level.

BAM! There it is!
