Mario and Mega Man are both milked heavily, just in very different ways. Mega Man is milked by continuing to pump out platformer after platformer with very little to tell apart from eachother. Mario is milked by the vast amount of spinoffs Nintendo places him in. With that being said, Mega Man platformers and Mario spinoffs ae still oftentimes really awesome, so I have no reason to complain about it.

What did you totally miss the crapfest that was Battle Network?  The freaky entry into 3D that almost kinda but didn't work known as Legends?  The spinoff Mega Man Zero games that completely ditched the entire robot master formula as well as all the others?

Do you actually know anything about the Mega Man franchise?

Seriously, your complaint may have been valid in the 90s but not today.  You fail.

Hey i liked Legends......I guess I'm in the minority *cries*

I liked... aspects of Legends.  I think a 3D Mega Man could be very awesome and Legends did several things right with the upgrade systems and the like.  However, the corny villains and pathetic plot were painful to bear.  Even worse, most of the weapons ended up being useless especially once you got the later ones.

Battle Network gets a pass by me do to the Megaman Battle Netwok Chip GP game or whatever.  That's a fun... kinda card based strategy game.

I dislike the games themselves to an extent because they're mediocre, but the thing that annoys me the most is that they are 100% not Mega Man games.  Battle Network is just an idea Capcom came up with and then later shoehorned Mega Man into IMO.

The idea of taking everything that makes Mega Man Mega Man and then throwing it out bothers me a lot because I'm a pretty HUGE fan of Mega Man.  ^_^

There's a Megaman game beyond X3? Only the X-Buster on his arm knows for sure.

Huh. Shows how much attention I've been paying. Dr Wily > Sigma.

I once threw a fit when Mega Man 4 came out at a rental store, because someone had the audacity to place excite bike behind the Mega Man 4 box. Not necessarily my proudest moment.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

Yeah, Mega man has had some bad breaks, but it is remarkable that he has managed to stay pretty relevant (like Sonic). And Legends were good enough, not great but not bad. I would love an updated version of the Legends Series with an honest effort put forth.

have you guys played ZX advent on the DS? its really good not as bad as those battle network games. i also think they should try another 3D megaman. something similar to the platforming elements of metroid would do nicely.

Though i was wondering, What are the chances to see mario sonic and megaman in one game ? :D

If you like the original Mega Man games or the Mega Man Zero games, you'll probably like the ZX games.  Probably, not guaranteed.

As for seeing them all in one game... my hope was for Mega Man to be in Brawl.  I was crushed...

What are the differences between Mega Man 1 through 6 on the NES? How many games had 6 installments on the NES? We had 3 Marios, 3 Castlevanias, 2 Contras, 3 Dragon Quests, 3 Final Fantasies, and I can't think of any franchises that got 4 or 5 NES installments off the top of my head. Can anybody else? I'm just drawing a blank, but right now off the top of my head it looks like at its debut it doubled the other big NES franchises.

I myself was thinking just months ago about which NES franchise had the most sequels! I think Dragon Quest is in second place with four NES games. Mario, of course, also has four if you count both versions of SMB 2.

Oh shit I forgot about Dragon Quest 4. My bad. And yeah, I guess we should count both SMB2s, so that's 6, 4, 4, and some 3s and 2s. Good work team.

megaman didnt fall from grace like sonic did imo. he's just fading into obscurity.
the few games that come out actually do well, like battle network, but never hits mainstream like older games.
