GTA IV is a great game and thoroughly deserves its perfect scores.

It may just be a subconscious thing because GTA4 happens to fit most reviewers' personal tastes better as the traditional shooter-type game, but I doubt there's any real intentional maliciousness going on, at least at the bigger sites.

i wonder if its because the game is great, i just wonder. I could be wrong though.

Wow no that like saying SSBB was a great game becuase its only on wii or the same with halo or metal gear solid.... GTAIV is a great game thats all there is to it

all I'm saying is a lot of people who only own a wii are crying about it getting a 10. Dont knock something you haven't played

I think there is some bias by reviewers. When it looked like SMG was going to take the top spot, some low scores came out to keep it from happening, etc... A few probably see this as the best chance to get something for the 360 or PS3 into the top spot, and decided to boost the score all the way to the max.

That said, there are enough honest revewiers out there that it might be getting an artificial boost, and some nintendo games getting an artifical lower, but I am sure it averages out to less than one point.

I'm not knocking it. I am just knocking what appear to be an award for perfection on things that other games have been docked for. I didn't mention the graphical pop-ups for instance (which are evident in game-play videos posted in another thread).

I don't have Godfather the Game for the same reason I don't have GTA IV -- this is not my type of game. I only own a Wii right now because I usually buy consoles late in the lifespan, not early.

I am just raising the point that it seems like people can't stop tripping over one another to praise this game -- in a business when usually someone wants to be the hard-ass odd-ball and give a game an 8 when it deserves a 9.5 (or 10).

I also agree with DKII's assessment that game-choice bias on the part of the reviewers certainly has not hurt the scores.
