I'd say July 2009. GT5 should have arrived in EU by then and I expect it to be an absolute monster in all regions especially EU.

you are crazy, the combination of k2 and r2 is enough alone to keep the systems equal, and you clearly have forgotten about socom. also lbp is a huge title. and then 2009 is even bigger with gt5 and home coming out. and on your previous post the 360 may have outsold the ps3 since its been out, but the ps3 has reached its first 10 million quicker.

 

and at the current rate, the ps3 should overtake in q2 of 2010, but with games like ffxiii versus, gt5, kingdom hearts three, and so many others, it should increase.  but ill be the numbers guy i am and go q2 2010

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

Actually its Valve and Epic - Two of the best developers for FPSers in the world releasing Left 4 Dead and Gears of War 2, I would put odds that those two would be better than R2 (Which will probably be excellent) And KZ2 (Unknown gameplay and too similar to R2) I would also bet that the lineup is has enough for everyone to entice people to buy the system, most of this years lineup targets different genres than last years exclusives.

Btw, since when was KH3 confirmed for the PS3?

from what we have seen and been told KZ2 is more like CoD4 where R2 is much more like Halo.

 

From what I've seen and been told, they both look like COD4. Funky weapons aside, I would say that R2 would play very similar. Its not the jumpy arcade type game that Halo is.
