To all those considering getting the PS3 version over the 360 one. Take note. In the past, IGN has given DIFFERENT scores to DIFFERENT versions of a game when it was better on one console than it was on another.

In this case, each game got a perfect 10, meaning any differences must be so negligible that they are virtually unnoticeable.

Content is king, and the Xbox 360 version will have more content.

i like how just because shams pointed that out you now use it as PR to get people to support your console of choice. could you stoop any lower?

Why try to kid anyone? You hate it when anyone points out the obvious. The only complete GTAIV experience is on the Xbox 360 (granted, the exception is arcade consoles).

starcraft, again, iv showed you the interviews. the ps3 version is the complete version of the game. the story line is completed at the end. there is nothing incomplete about it. the DLC is EXTRA stuff on the side. NOT REQUIRED to get 100%. can you disprove this?

You are confusing me with you. Anyways, I did NOT say that Home will come close to anything Live offers. You said that the 360 version is the only one with potential to get improvements, which I disagree because of the things I previously said. I didn't say it will be close to it or better than Live.

And read the last freaking paragraph of the review!

You didn't say you responding to my "future improvements" point.  But I agree that if Home is any good, its activation may offer an improvement for the PS3 GTAIV.

We are both reading the same paragraph my friend.  It is just that you are not grasping the concept I'm discussing.  IGN said (in that very paragraph) that their reviews measure games against their competition.  Therefore, when stacked up against the PS3 GTAIV, they don't believe their is a discernable difference significant enough to warrant a change of score.

end of thread/

I didn't say anything about versions, I said something about experiences.  Rockstar themselves said that to get the complete GTAIV "experience" you will need the Xbox 360 version.

IGN is not the only review that has said this. their not making this up starcraft, you will have to face the facts some day.

HAHAH and when did they say this!!!! you need the DLC that doesnt exist yet to complete the "experience!" pulling things out your ass much?!

how come when starcraft gets totally owner in on thread, he goes to another similar thread and rants the same stuff?

ok ok, you got me im sorry starcraft. i did some looking around, i found what you were talking about the full experience on the 360. its an article from Jul 26th 2007!! and plus the article doesnt state ANY names or sources. doesnt sound to credible... your going off of a rumour from just under a year ago.

Starcraft - do you want me to write an email to IGN asking them to please explain to me why they didnt mark the 360 version down for some of the same reasons they marked some other games down for in the past?

Absolutely.  Ask them why the difference between the versions wasn't large enough to justify even a .1 mark down for the 360.  It would solve this whole argument one way or another.

I really think that the decision not to dock a point or two was to prevent a fanboy war like the one were having now. If they had declared the PS3 version numerically superior, the site would've lost its credibility in the eyes of people like you. Unless the DLC is a new island, I'm going with the PS3 version. If the missions they added really completed the game, I would consider it but as every reviewer has said so far, the PS3 version is graphically superior. I'll make a bet with someone that the PS3 gameranking and Meta-critic scores will be higher than the 360's.

I agree about the decision to not dock points.  I mean, the PS3 version of R6: Vegas 2 is slightly worse than the XBox360 version.  So it gets 0.2 points docked off.  Ok, whatever, they have their right to do it.  And in the end, no one cared because an 8.4 is not that much different than an 8.2.  But if they gave the PS3 version of GTA4 a perfect 10, and the XBox360 version a 9.8, can you imagine the uproar this would cause in the gaming community?

This whole "both versions receive perfect 10 scores, but the PS3 version is slightly superior" contradiction appears to be a conservative effort on the part of IGN to keep all parties placated in the face of what is expected to be the biggest gaming release of the year.

They don't want to step on toes, but they still have to report on the little differences seeing as how the gaming public hangs onto every little detail, no matter how small.
