Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox 360 sales now passes 19 million

I just found news of this at

http://www.videogaming247.com/2008/04/25/xbox-360-sales-pass-19-million/

According to this Eurogamer report, Xbox 360 sales have now passed 19 million globally.

The new came as part of a general Microsoft first quarter financial release yesterday, which showed the Xbox division had increased sales 68 percent for the past three months year-on-year.

Xbox 360 sales were last confirmed at 17.7 million in January.

Is this reliable as it doesn't agree with what's on the site here.

Microsoft uses shipped figures ("sold to retailers").  VGChartz tracks "sold to customers" figures.  They're different numbers. Microsoft figures could include orders, xboxes on boats, *always* includes Xboxes on shelves, etc.

I don't believe is shipped figures...

It's shipped, friend. Hardware manufacturers don't report sold to consumer, only what they sell to retailers. We deal with this every three months.

and what about Nintendo?? The official numbers is 24,45 and vgchartz shows 24,58...

Sigh the ship figures dont include the three weeks of april. These numbers were since March 31st. (Wiis numbers were at 23.47 then)
