Forums - Sony - Remmember the Killzone 2 E3 demo in 2005...

...who still thinks that was in game footage back then?

Around the Network

was it in game? no.

will Killzone 2 look as good as that when its released? yes, or damn close.

At that time I was amazed by the grahpics but we have seen so much now that it doesn't really is spectucalar if games could achieve those grahpics.

don't know about that, but they should show new stuff this E3

''Hadouken!''

Of course no one still believes that was in-game. They showed actual in-game footage last year. Was it anywhere close to what they showed in 2005? Not really. Especially particle effects like the fire/smoke. Was it pretty damn good looking? Yes.

Of course it isn't in-game footage.

However, looking back it doesn't look as good as it once did. The parts that might not be matched by the actual KZ2 are the texture detail, insanely high polygon count (specifically areas like the curvature on the front of the nose), and the overall activity of your comrades.

That being said, the actually game will look damn close in all those areas, and it has already surpassed the CGI demo in areas like lighting.

Does the creator of this thread say anything about Killzone 2 being the best FPS ever?

anyways, I dont think that was in game for sure, but the final game should look pretty close. They should show some new footage at this years E3

This thread feels a year old.

I have no doubt that KZ2 will look great but here we are 3 years later and still not up to those levels.
I find it funny when companies do this but Sony isn't the first.

In 1994 at E3 Sega showed off Virtua fighter and Virtua racing running on the Saturn.
While Nintendo showed off this amazing demo of a 3rd party game that was close to CGI quality back then...it completely blew away anything the saturn was doing.

It was later established that the demo was for a game called robotech...and that at the time it was running on 2 dedicated servers...the game was never released.
