I started a Kickstarter to create a comic based on a webnovel I wrote. The webnovel itself was inspired by a comic outline I made back in middle school, when I was watching shows like Avatar and reading manga like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. I promised myself that one day I’d turn it into a real comic.
Recently, while visiting my parents’ house, I found the old notebook with that outline. I used it(after making some edits) to build the webnovel, which is still ongoing. Now, I’m slowly turning that webnovel into the comic I always dreamed of making.
I’ve already self-funded the first two chapters, and now it’s time for the third. With three chapters completed, I’ll be able to release a physical book to sell on TikTok and Amazon. Why wait until the third chapter? Because I’ve always disliked when a first issue doesn’t actually get the story moving. I wanted to make sure that by the end of the first issue, the story feels like it’s really starting to take off.
Also, no AI is used to draw this comic. The artwork is done entirely by Studio Abiboge on Fiverr.
