Yeah, Italy is not that behind France either in population nor GDP, and definitely not behind artistic flair, but for some reason there are not many games developed there...which is really odd.
I ended up voting for Assetto Corsa. I also played a bit of Beyond Good and Evil, which would probably be a contender had I played it more.
Assetto Corsa is really a brilliant driving sim, they nailed the physics.
Have to give it to Beyond Good & Evil.
Honorary mentions to Ark of Time, a great 90's adventure, and GBA version of Wing Commander: Prophecy, a great conversion to a limited console.
To be honest, I would give it to Beyond Good & Evil as well, if it wasn't that I view it as a French game (no matter what propositions say).
