I don't know about crysis (FPS is generally not one of my favorites) but tried to do some google and found this concerning an interesting game (possibly exclusive?) for the wi from eai: http://www.totalvideogames.com/news/EA_First_Spielberg_Title_Is_For_Wii_Update_11576_6630_0.htm The first in a three franchise collaboration with the acclaimed Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, which was first announced back in October 2005, EA has today confirmed that the untitled game will be heading to Nintendo Wii before the end of the 2008 fiscal year, which ends on March 31st next year. EA is definitely switching their focus from PS3 to wii.

 Interesting how none of the platforms were ruled out, and specifically for the wii he states "but Crysis is not part of the plan at this stage, but that may change."  and basically says they are only focussing on the PC right now.

From what I can gather from speculated recomended system requirements it appears that my PC (Athlon X2 3800+ and Geforce 7800GT) should be able to handle Crysis at a reasonable level of detail ... I don't know about you, but this suggests to me that the XBox 360 and PS3 should be able to receive direct ports of this game with minimal impact if EA was motivated to port the game.

Ok let me debunk this rumor completely, that is a pic from a clip on last Friday's 1up show. It was from a preview of Crysis on the PC, but somehow they made a mistake and put up Wii where PC was supposed to be. After some people pointed it out on Neogaf, the 1Up people had to redo the whole video of the episode and fix this problem. So you got all that? there is no Crysis on Wii and that is not a picture of it, it was an error by the people at 1up. Here's the episode: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3159855 If you look at the preview part for Crysis you'll see it is the same exact pic you have but it says PC instead of Wii, in the same gray box on the top left corner. So this rumor is disproved. Does that settle the matter?

I don't care whether or not Crysis is released for the Wii or not, but I do find it interesting that he does talk about it somewhat. If you know anything about the industry, then you'll know that anything can change at anytime. Who knows whether or not Crysis is going to get released on the Wii, but I wouldn't rule anything out since they may change their mind later on. This goes for the 360 and PS3 as well.

Ckmlb, I don't think anyone believes that pic to be real. However, that doesn't mean there isn't a possibility of it coming out on either the PS3, 360, or Wii at some point. Based on the interview, I would guess they've at least entertained the idea.

This is a long download, but if you're interested in seeing what Crysis is capable of, this would do it. The amount of computational power is insane. Whether it can fit on the PS3 or not, this game blows away all PS3 efforts I've seen: MGS4, Haze and others may be great games, but they are clearly a level below Crysis graphically (I actually expect MGS4 to be a much better game, it just isn't as graphically impressive). Watch this, then tell me how they'll fit this on the Wii without basically just making a new game.

And yes, I see that this is just an error. I'm only emphasizing the technical issues if any such collaboration were to occur (they did try Far Cry on the Wii).

    I didn't say I think it's impossible to happen, but the rumor as of right now is not true and that pic is not a Wii version of Crysis, it was an error. So the rumor is based on an accident. 

    Also I think if they do decide to go for consoles, 360 and PS3 have a better chance of getting it than the Wii does, but there is always a chance of anything.  I mean there is a chance that Starcraft 2 comes out on the PSP but you won't see me talking about the possibility because it is highly unlikely.
