Just name some buzzwords you either love or hate and maybe give an explanation or two if necessary.
Loved
"The Red Rings of Death"-What a great name for such an awful hardware failure. It sounds like your 360 lost a war with the Soviets and all P.O.W.s were put to death, which to some people is exactly what the RROD feels like.
"The Wii-mote"-Simple, clever, effective, like most things concerning Nintendo this generation. Plus it rolls off the tongue really well.
Hated
"Hardcore" and "Casual"-If there were any worse words to stereotype gamers, I haven't heard them yet, and wish to never hear them. Not to mention everyone has an opinion on what the definition of each mean, with no common ground between them.
"Next-Gen"-I don't have a problem with the word itself, but when it's used in context with the curent geneation of gaming. Next-gen should be what comes next, not what's currently sitting on your Walmart shelves.
"PWN3D"-I don't know where it originated from, or whether it's strictly gaming related, but for the love of god please make it go away.
"Waggle"-Never has a word made innovation feel so miniscule, unimportant and childish than motions on a Wii controller being referred to as "waggles".
"Shooter"-Referring to any game where the primary weapons are guns. Not every game that features guns is a shooter, the same as you wouldn't consider every game featuring swords to be a swordster, and every game in the first person is not always a shooter either, just for head's up. Most are simply action and/or adventure games.
