I haven't played Rebirth yet, but I'd say my top 3 are

3. Final Fantasy 7 Remake - Very fun combat system.  All of the new story and character moments they added actually detract from the story.  However, all of the story and character moments from the original game that they translated to Remake are really well done.

2.  Final Fantasy 14 - A more casual MMO that is highly inspired by WoW.  That also means very little LFG frustration, and it's best story moments are really fantastic.  (Although there are other parts of the story that I skipped a lot.)

3.  Final Fantasy 11 - I had to think a long time about whether I liked 14 or 11 better.  FF11 is a tougher game, but it's that way because its game mechanics are more interesting.  I really love the job/subjob system and all of the things you can do with it.  The ultimate example of this is the Ninja job.  The game designers actually screwed up from a design perspective.  It was supposed to be a dps job, but it was the worst one.  However, the players figured out how to turn it into a kickass tank job by using Warrior as a subjob.  This is emergent gameplay, and IMO it is the hallmark of great games.  The players were able to do something very fun and unpredictable with the system, and it ended up doing something better than the intentional design of the developers.  This is just one of many great examples of why this job/subjob system is great.  It's also just a consistently great game all around.  However, LFG on a dps job can really suck and that is its biggest drawback.
