Federal Reserve auctions another US$50B to banks

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Federal Reserve has auctioned another $50 billion in short-term loans to squeezed banks.

It is part of an ongoing effort to relieve stressed credit markets.

Counting the latest results, the central bank now has provided a total of $360 billion in the short-term loans to commercial banks through 10 auctions conducted since December.

The latest auction was held on Monday, with the results announced on Tuesday.

I don't understand econ much. But isn't printing more money cause the dollar to fall?

The US is always in debt.  Why do you say still in debt?  Every President/Congress votes to increase the debt.
