Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince announced
More Harry set for this year.

EA has announced that they will be releasing a videogame tie in for the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie, which is set for release later this year.

“Working with EA, we look forward to offering fans a compelling Harry Potter video game, one which captures the thrilling storyline and high visual quality of the movie,” said Scott Johnson, Vice President, Business Development for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The adherence to the rich fiction is a trademark of this franchise and with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince fans will experience the most authentic and enjoyable game in the series to date.”

The game will be released on the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo DS. The first image of the game can be found in our media panel.

Starcraft's thoughts:

The games always seem to sell ok.  They are never "good," but I've seen one or two versions that weren't bad either.  I would really love to see EA make a proper (and I do mean PROPER) Harry Potter RPG with a fully explorable Hogwarts and a J.K. Rowling written storyline, perhaps following one of the many tangents in the series that were never fully explored.

I used to enjoy them when I was younger.

They should put it on Atari 5200 too. I would totally buy it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Lol. Wow, what a vibrant and enthusiastic reaction.

Harry Potter is so meh. But this will sell heaps on the Wii and PS2.

Yeah it will sell enough on the other platforms to justify Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows though.

I hear it's also coming to automated bank tellers, VCRs and the International Space Station.
