Herman hulst isn't that popular at Sony if it is true that the Horizon MMO is also cancelled..

So I looked back at the exclusives released for the PS4 in 2018, to get an idea about how the PS5 is doing on a launch aligned basis, in terms of pipeline and development.

God of War, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, and MLB are the only "first party" releases. PS5 can certainly match that number with Ghost, Marathon and MLB this year.

You mean the game that has nothing to do with Sony outside of them licensing the IP for use to an mmo studio?

I think that bigger difference is that PS4 def had smaller PSN releases and no cross-gen games.

But, 2014 also had a lot from Sony. And I think they'll have a lot this year too

I think Sony's first party cadence somewhat faltered in the launch aligned periods of 2023/2024 with 2016/2017. But I also feel like 2022 was better than most of the PS4's peak years.

2020 is the only PS4 year that I feel comfortable putting above 2022. And 2020 is one of the best years for Sony's first party pipeline ever, and it includes the launch lineup for the PS5.
