So yeah, I don't think Uncharted is for me. Came in expecting Tomb Raider, but better. Instead found the level layout quite confusing due to Nathan's arbitrary climbing skills and the gameplay loop a bit boring. Nice scripted pieces and good visuals for a PS3 game, on the other hand. Good character banter too.

Will still finish Among Thieves, though, since I'm apparently halfway in already, and might check U4 since I heard the gameplay is more modern in that one.

I personally didn't enjoy the first Tomb Raider that much, I love Uncharted 2 though.

I personally don't like Uncharted 1 or 3 that much though. 1 is pretty stiff, but okay. Uncharted 3 messes with a lot of the stuff that I liked about Uncharted 2, doesn't have the pacing, has more meaningless set pieces.

I know 1 didn't age that well, but maybe I'll check out 3 then if it's that different. Or maybe I'll have a better opinion of 2 after it's over, IDK. Played Bloodborne early this year and that was one exclusive that grew on me a lot after I was done with it.

This, 4 was great too.

That sucks. But all the stuff I read about the new Firewall made it seem like they didn't even understand what made the first game good. Even reviewers noted a lot of strange design choices.

Oh well, 1 less dev that would be working on PSVR2 content. That's unfortunate.

The only thing I can think that TR have over UC is that Lara Croft was a teen crush for a lot of us.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Personally I prefer the tomb raider reboot series to UC. TR has a bit more exploration and I prefer the level design. The only Uncharted I've not played is Lost Legacy.

Well different tastes, metric and sales are more in favor of UC than TR, my taste aligns on that but yes I do like TR a lot.

The TR trilogy outsold UC 2-3-4, though, unless you count the collections. Exclusive vs. multiplat, yes, but there were plenty of UC bundles on the other hand to balance things a bit.

Of course, sales hardly matter as a point in a world where GTA, Fortnite, and Minecraft are the absolute kings.

Looks like I'll be inadvertently getting a PS5 for Christmas! Or at least a little bit after Christmas. I was waiting for games like GoW: Ragnarök, FF16, and Spider-Man 2 to eventually come to PC, but thankfully won't need to wait now. Told my wife I just won't double dip when these games do make it to PC Really looking forward to getting FF7: Rebirth at launch now as well!
