I'm currently playing Uncharted for the first time--namely, the Drake's Collection on the PS5, beginning with Among Thieves since that's the breakout title.

So far, though, the game feels kind of... mid? The setpieces look great and diverse, but the arbitrary climbing skills are just OK, and the gameplay loop, man, how the sound department dropped the ball with those guns.

Honestly, I think I like the new Tomb Raider trilogy better haha.

It's okay, we're all allowed to be wrong about some things have different preferences. I'm just messing.

It's a 14 year old game, so it may not be the best introduction, and it certainly isn't as impressive today as it was back then.

With that said, the game is a ride. Drastic new locations like every 40 minutes sometimes, falling buildings, falling trains, etc.

I can't agree with you, and on higher difficult the game is quite diverse on gameplay. But yes platforming isn't really big.

He is playing UC4, so not as old =p, but yes he is still wrong.

I'm not a fan of Naughty Dog's gameplay, but I can't deny their Uncharted games are exciting as hell! Uncharted 4 especially absolutely floored me!

Among Thieves is Uncharted 2.

The Nathan Drake collection is the Bluepoint remasters on PS4 of the first 3 games.

Yeah I love me some UC4 and LL. Great games.

But I do hope the exploration side of things expands in future games.

Speaking of Uncharted, I couldn't help but notice that the Uncharted Collection was given new box art on Steam today. It's just both games original box art separated, but incredibly odd given that the collection was released over a year ago. Most likely means nothing, just odd. The change was made on the games Steam page, library logo, and background logo. Game doesn't show any updates as of July 6th, so talk about out of nowhere.

Even seeing the game in your library selection, it still shows the original box art from that last update in July

There's a little speculation about PlayStation Studios starting up a new studio, with Vonderhaar being cagey about where he was going. I kind of doubt it.

I actually don't know who this JC guy is, but him saying he's working at PS and with Blundell is eye-raising indeed.

It seems like either:

- Sony has a new team somewhere that Blundell is heading.

- Blundell is back at Deviation Games, and they're still working together.

The latter seems a little less crazy, but it still feels surprising after Blundell left, and seemingly things weren't good with PlayStation and Deviation Games.

Either of those outcomes feels like it would be pretty crazy to me.

Maybe there's a different situation, like he's at XDev or something, but that seems like an unlikely downgrade.
