Why is CNN fact checking Biden instead of Trump

Fact check: Biden’s false and misleading claims at high-stakes news conference

https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/11/politics/fact-check-joe-biden-nato-press-conference/index.html

Biden’s Putin-Zelensky gaffe moment

“I said, ‘No, I’m sorry, Zelensky.’ And then I added five other names.” <-> Biden’s last claim was false. He didn’t utter “five other names” after he corrected the Putin-Zelensky mix-up. In fact, after Biden corrected himself, Zelensky said he is “better” than Putin, Biden agreed, and then Zelensky delivered remarks as Biden stood silently beside him.

Biden’s travels

“The next debate, I’m not going to be traveling 15 time zones a week before. Anyway. That’s what it was about.” <-> Biden did not travel abroad “a week before” the June 27 CNN presidential debate in which he performed poorly. In fact, he returned to the US from Europe 12 days before that debate, on June 15.

What Trump said about NATO

“I think he said at one of his rallies, don’t hold me to this, recently, where, ‘NATO – I just learned about NATO,’ or something to that effect. <-> Trump did not say at a recent rally that “I just learned about NATO.” Rather, Trump said at the rally that he had not known what NATO was, “too much,” prior to attending his first alliance summit as president in 2017.

Hamas and the West Bank

“There is a growing dissatisfaction in, on the West Bank, from the Palestinians, about Hamas. Hamas is not popular now.” <-> The limited available public opinion polling suggests the claim that “Hamas is not popular now” in the West Bank is not true – and that Hamas’ popularity has increased there since its attack on Israel last October.

The war in Afghanistan

Biden spoke of how he had encouraged Israeli leaders not to “occupy anywhere” and instead target the Hamas terrorists who attacked their country, avoiding the mistakes the US made after it was attacked on September 11, 2001. Biden said, “You may recall, I still get criticized for it, but I was totally opposed to the occupation and trying to unite Afghanistan. <-> In the early years of the war, Biden, then a US senator for Delaware, was a vocal public supporter of the US having a sustained military presence in Afghanistan and engaging in extensive “nation-building” there – and he explicitly rejected the idea of a narrow military mission targeting terrorists.

All US media is out to get Biden it seems.

When CNN fact checks Trump it's on some nonsense like Vacation homes, wtf

Trump falsely claims Biden has homes in four vacation destinations and ‘more homes than I do’

All US media is out to get Biden it seems.

A big reason why I think he's done.

Trump's crimes, Trump misspeaking, Trump not knowing what he's talking about on a good day, none of it seems to matter to a lot of people.

Both candidates are being held to very different standards by the media and their own voters.

Just me who feels like these 3 are "Bitch Eating Crackers"? Lol.

Alright...He didn't utter five other names but that surely makes him look slightly better? Lol.

The "he didn't travel abroad a week before" but "12 days before" He's off by a whole 5 days...Woah...Who cares.

And the Trump NATO one, he even says "I think" "don't hold me to this" "something to that effect" he is making clear it's not exactly accurate quoting but fine, Trump didn't say he just learnt about NATO but he did say that he didn't fucking know what NATO was before becoming President which significantly outweighs in the "dumb fuck" scale than all 3 of these minor fact checks combined.

And to be frank, it's fucking clear that Trump STILL doesn't have a fucking clue what NATO is or how NATO works considering the shit he says about it, how he always seems to imply that NATO countries owe America money and they aren't "paying their bills" Trump shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt here, the moron still doesn't know what NATO is.

Harris will equally get blasted by the media for various things but I think her being a lot younger, a lot more energetic, she is probably capable of batting those off and turning the attention back to Trump. Slap in Cooper who would slap that JD Vance brat around and maybe Cooper keeps some of Biden's most hardcore onboard.

Would be happy with Beshear and Shapiro though.

But it's absolutely essential that the Democrat Party does not give the media anymore ammo and if they want Biden out then they all need to agree on a plan and the only viable plan is Harris and they all need to get behind her and unite as one attacking force instead of spending the next few months attacking each other.

Betting that doesn't happen, betting Democrats force Biden out, don't have a plan, then spend the next month talking shit about each other and fighting to be the nominee, Lol. We have dozens of articles about why this candidate sucks and why this candidate sucks while Trump goes by unscathed, then they have to be like "oh we didn't mean it, go vote for this guy or girl" with two months left to fix hurt feelings and fanbases, Lol.

Having said all this, Harris needs to fire a few of Biden's campaign team.

If Biden wants to become president of Israel, he's on the right track

Are Biden’s numbers really better in Israel than in the US?

At a news conference on Thursday, Biden defended his policies on Gaza by suggesting that he is more popular in Israel than he is at home.

“By the way, look at the numbers in Israel. I mean, my numbers are better in Israel than they are here,” Biden said.

Recent polls appear to back that assertion. A Pew Research Center Survey earlier this year found that 57 percent of respondents in Israel have confidence in Biden to do the right thing regarding world affairs.

Another study by Pew released this month showed that 39 percent of US respondents have confidence in Biden to make good foreign policy decisions.

What an odd thing to brag about. You need the Muslim voters to come out for you, Israelis don't get to vote in the US... Plus younger generation Jews in the US aren't happy with you either.

@Ryuu96 "But it's absolutely essential that the Democrat Party does not give the media anymore ammo"  Yes, asap.
