- April 18th 2023: second extension of the original outside date. If MS quits by that date they have to pay a termination fee of $2,500,000,000; if they don't, the outside date gets extended until July 18th 2023.

- July 18th 2023: The end of the second extension and final outside date in the merger agreement. If MS quits by that date they have to pay a termination fee of $3,000,000,000; if they don't, they'll have to renegotiate the outside date with ABK.

They've also hit the final payment threshold and are now on the hook for $3bn if the deal fails.

Microsoft would have received CMA's final report before April 18th.

- Final report coming on April 26th or the day before.

- The addendum to the PF, something “exceptional” and “very unusual”, was probably done to mitigate the risk of a third party (Sony) questioning the final decision. The CMA could have just dropped the theory of harm but without a detailed explanation about the change, that could have opened the door to a complaint about procedural irregularities.

- One lawyer expects the CMA to impose behavioural remedies.

- The same lawyer believes that an appeal by Sony is unlikely to succeed.

Sony will likely appeal no matter what, Lol. Sounds like the CMA is going to approve it with behavioural remedies and are trying their best to ensure that Sony can't complain about it.

What update are you xbots getting? Last I checked, the 17th was my last update and it says UK English language pack whatever that means.
