I luckily had my Game Pass Ultimate maxed out at 3 years when they made the changes last year, so I'm good for another 2 and a half years before I need to worry about paying for it. The main reason I subscribe is for day one games, while Ultimate has a LOT of new extras that I will never use. That felt like the main justification as to why they raised the price from $20 to $30 per month.

I'd be all for a cheaper tier that only comes with the library of games and day one games (minus Call of Duty), and has no extras. But I have a feeling that would cause millions to downgrade to a lower tier.

Now if they keep the same tiers but have ad-supported versions for less money I might consider it to save money depending on how intrusive the ads are.
