Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is just making me want a fully single-player, action-adventure with RPG elements, pirate game again and making me once again disappointed Ubisoft never did anything like that, Lol. Some alternate history thing, I don't want it to be based on historical events but it could still have those historical characters like Blackbeard, Calico Jack, Anne Bonny, Mary Read, Charles Vane, etc. Starting as a nobody with a tiny ship and crew, then like Yakuza having dozens of unique characters to recruit across the world, then I thought to myself, how cool it would be to have a sort of Nemesis System in it which applies to both the pirate themselves and their ships. |
That's exactly why I want to buy that game, because there are barely any good pirate games these days.
No seriously, even YT suggests this to me a few months back:
I remember growing up as a kid and there just being at least "a" form of pirate game here and there, but today?, barely any (besides SoT and this yakuza one).
I tried SoT so hard, but it's a game geared towards PVPVE, and I've discovered I absolutely loathe PVEVP design at it's core, and SoT just wasn't offering me enough tangible SP content to keep me going.
I know there's the On e Piece games, but those are mostly shallow repeats of anime/manga story beat arcs, and most of the OP games are beat'em up types or Muso, not like Yakuza, SoT or Sid Meier's Pirates.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
