Russia, you will lose.

Lets sum up America's talk the past few weeks.

1. Given Russia two major concessions before the negotiations even started.

- Offered to block Ukraine from being able to join NATO; Therefore leaving Ukraine alone and vulnerable in the future for when Russia eventually repairs its battered military and attacks for the 3rd time after their already two invasions targets in 11 years.

- Allowing Russia to keep the territory it has stolen from Ukraine, therefore giving them a major win and sending a signal to every other country in the world with imperialist ambitions; Steal some land, hunker down and eventually America will let you keep it.

Art of the deal is giving your opponent major wins before starting negotiations apparently.

2. Discussing pulling American troops from Europe's Eastern flank aka Baltic States, the countries most vulnerable to Russian aggression. Giving Putin another major win for further escalation.

3. Marco Rubio noted that America needs to take advantage of "the incredible opportunity to partner with the Russians geopolitically on issues of common interest" Yeah, sure, the incredible opportunity to partner with Nazis, that sounds amazing...America barely even offers America anything of importance, it's why they were able to sanction them so easily and more severely than Europe so this can only mean one thing: "We agree with Russia's Nazism and need Ukraine to surrender"

4. Blamed Ukraine for starting the war, victim blaming bullshit.

5. Said that Ukraine should have traded land for peace. Dumb fucks need to read a history book.

6. Demanded that Ukraine holds elections during wartime, despite the fact that Putin has ruled for 25 years in totally legit elections after murdering and imprisoning his political rivals. Despite the fact that there's currently millions of Ukrainian migrants not living in Ukraine, that Russia forcefully rules 15-20% of Ukraine and already held sham referendums in those areas, that Ukraine's constitution forbids elections during war, that other countries don't hold elections during war, that Russia will make threats and heavily try to interfere in the elections. The truth is, Trump wants Zelenskyy out of the way because he's too strong for Trump.

7. Made up bullshit and spread Russian propaganda that Zelenskyy has a 4% approval rating despite countless of actual polls saying otherwise but you don't need them to know that 4% is obvious horseshit.

8. Elon Musk praised Lavrov (a Nazi) as showing "competent leadership"

9. America/Trump lied about Ukraine being invited to Russian/American talks in Munich and then again lied about them being invited to Saudi Arabia peace talks.

10. Saudi Arabia proposed Ukraine be invited to peace talks, Russia and America both opposed inviting Ukraine to peace talks, they're both trying to go over Ukraine's head to discuss what to do with Ukraine. Just like how Trump negotiated directly with the Taliban and backstabbed the Afghan Government and look where that has got Afghanistan now.

11. Said that Ukraine had disappointed him, because they had 3 years to negotiate (Aka 3 years to surrender).

12. America demanded a higher share of Ukrainian GDP than Germany's 1st World War reparations. Sure fire way to make Ukrainians fucking despite America and create a few terrorists/extreme nationalists.

13. Demanded $500bn in "payback" from Ukraine for past military support under Joe Biden (despite American support coming nowhere near $500bn) and on top of that, this "deal" didn't come with new military support, so he was simply trying to extort Ukraine.

14. Vance went to Munich only to attack Europe and said he was more concerned about Europe than Russia.

15. They tried to blackmail Ukraine into signing the mineral deal, throwing it onto Zelenskyy and giving him an hour to read and sign it, told him he can't meet JD Vance if he doesn't sign it. Zelenskyy refused.

16. Trying to block Europe from being involved in peace talks, said that Europe made past mistakes (Aka stood up to a genocidal maniac)

17. Blamed Biden for a war that started in 2014.

18. Said that he trusts Putin.

19. Said that he wants Russia back in the G7.

Yeah and we knew these things before he got elected. But Americans still elected him. We had multiple pieces of evidence that Trump is a Russian stooge and Vance wouldn't care one bit. This is just what we have to deal with for 4 years.

Trump - “President Zelensky is down to 4% approval rating”

First of all, it's a lie. Secondly, what about putin’s real approval rating? The fact that he hijacked power for 26 years and counting? Any word, Dummy Don?

— WarTranslated (Dmitri) (@wartranslated.bsky.social) 18 February 2025 at 22:16

The funny thing about this, aside from the fact that it is bullshit, is that the only dude who may have higher approval rating than Zelenskyy is Zaluzhnyi, a military general, that tells you everything you need to know about how Ukrainians feel about things. Trump and Putin want to replace Zelenskyy with a Russian puppet and will do so by any means necessary but Zaluzhnyi being elected would be a hilarious backfire.

Hungary blocked EU sanctions against Russian Orthodox Church leader Patriarch Kirill, according to Foreign Minister Szijjártó. Kirill calls the invasion of Ukraine a “Holy War” with the explicit aim of extinguishing Ukrainian independence and imposing direct Russian rule.

Based on currently available information, Russia is not expected to make major concessions, placing the burden of concessions on Ukraine. The sentiment in Ukraine suggests that it won't accept a lopsided deal. Trump's team is being played by a former KGB officer like children

— Tatarigami (@tatarigami.bsky.social) 18 February 2025 at 16:15

Trump is simply repeating a Putin talking point here. Russia has insisted on intervening in basic issues of Ukrainian sovereignty for more than a decade. Now Trump is doing Putin’s PR work, making unsustainable arguments for an unjustifiable invasion.

1) Trump and Putin are preparing a common plan to dictate to Ukraine.
2) Ukraine will surprise them (at least Trump) by refusing.
3) The War will continue.
4) The role of Europe will be decisive.

One more point about Rubio: I know that many in Europe were somewhat relieved when he was appointed Secretary of State, expecting him to be a sober, sane voice and a stabilizer of Euroatlantic relations. Surely, with his utterly humiliating performance this week, those hopes are now over.
