Good to see a Fast Racing rep recommended. Shinen did a good job with that series.

I've played Hotshot Racing and didn't really like it. Wasn't really into Sega Ages Virtua Racing either but it's good. I guess arcade racers aren't really my thing.

I have played DriveClub, DriveClub Bikes, DriveClub PSVR, hundreds and hundreds of hours in DriveClub.

Trackmania Turbo is more arcade and a lot of fun, very hard through. The track editor was very good. This is a little track I made while testing out remote play. (That's my laptop in front of the TV streaming the game)

Not really suited to arcade racing.

Wipeout was always a favorite, another series left to die :/ It wasn't that exciting in VR however. Somehow the perspective made it all feel a lot smaller and slower. I had the same problem with GT Sport in VR, some tracks feel very small and driving the slower cars is a snooze fest.

Wipeout was great for time trials. The combat was a nuisance, racing the AI was mostly luck. Get the right power ups before the AI gets them or be send back to last again. Also a reason why I never got on with mario kart. I like my racing to be based on skill rather than on random pick ups.

I haven't played many pure arcade racers, but my favorite by far is Hydro Thunder! I'm really hoping Microsoft makes another game in the series.

A few honorable mentions would be Sega Rally, Daytona USA, and Star Wars: Racer Arcade :) funny enough, all 3 of those were made by Sega lol
