The xbox 360 may have Gears 2 over the holiday season, and Too Human over summer, but looks like they're up against some heavy hitters from the PS3, like SOCOM, Resistance 2, Littlebig Planet, Motorstorm 2 and Killzone 2. The original gears of war may have moved a lot of xbox 360's, but will it move as many now considering the PS3's hit games will appeal to both casual, core, and hardcore gamers?

To be honest, I don't think any of those games will even sell as much as Gears of War 2. GEOW2 could easily outsell the first, and none of those games looks like it has a chance for 5 million, except for LittleBigPlanet, which should end up selling 100 million .

All of those games will *not* be coming out around the same time as GeoW2. If they do then Sony is crazy.

Is that a joke? Gears of War will still end up selling more than each of the games you listed and when did SOCOM, Motorstorm and Littlebig Planet ever become big hitters? You're comparing them to a game that's sold over 5 million and Gears of War 2 will most likely easily do 6-7 million. Name some games that have a shot of getting over 5 million if you're talking about competition.

Well SOCOM is coming out in September, Littlebig Planet, and Killzone 2 are out in october, Resistance 2 will be released in November (With Gears of War 2) and Motorstorm 2 is out in December

Yes the year is full of heavy hitters... but Gears2 can hold its own without a doubt in mind... sure we are yet to play all these games but I base this on how things have gone in the past... 360 owners tend to love good shooters... see the sales of Gears1, Halo, Orange Box, CoD4... Gears1 got great reviews... why should Gears2 be any worse ??? ... that and its THE big shooter this year on the 360... people will eat this game up in bunches if you ask me...

Damn it. Looks like everyone misunderstood my question. How will these games affect the console's sales, and which console will have the biggest boost because of these games? that was my question in simple terms i suppose

Don't foget...Banjo is there too as well as Halo Wars and Alan Wake for the 360. Gears of War 2 may be the big one but its not the only big game coming form Microsoft.
