Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Japanese Ip Franchise Microsoft owns that need to be revived

Off the top of my head , just the already mentioned Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon but Blue Dragon is no longer as desired as it once was , by me at least ,since we now have DQ on xbox. I will see what else comes to mind and report back to HQ.

Blinx, obviously

Does Scalebound count? It was being made by Platinum and had a decent amount of promise going on, but it can't really be revived since it was never trully born, so...

You know it deserves the GOTY.

As much as I like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, they each sold around 1 million. Turn based jrpgs don’t have the same appeal as they used to. Better off buying Konamis dormant IPs and make a studio around them.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Konami will never sell Metal Gear due to the money they make from the pachinko sales.

Castlevania cause they still make money from the re-releases and the partnership with Netflix for the show.

Silent Hill no idea but Suikoden would be the only other notable IP they have but all of the Suikoden games sold less or almost the same as than Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey.

I am reminded of the rumor earlier this year. Where Konami would take a cut of any remakes or remasters. And the IP ownership only applies to gaming, leaving their casino efforts untouched. I still believe in this a little bit, because otherwise Konami as a development studio is way past its prime and is just sitting on their IPs with no active development that I know of.

Lost Odyssey 2 is a must for sure, it's a ip that survived the test of time, LO1 developed a huge cult following and it's way more liked these days than when it released, helps it doesn't run badly or have awful loading times like it used to-should be SX enhanced to 4K/60.

Otogi would do great these days, would start by making the games available on Xbox Series tho BC them.

The Japanese are not interested in buying an xbox because everything it offers they already have it on PC

The Japanese PC scene is almost nonexistent.

Konami is not going to sell anything period. Unless the gambling industry over there collapses and they become desperate, just licensing and re-releasing old titles make more than enough money for a pittiance of a cost.

In Japan I have seen more games for sale than Xbox, so xbox is non-existent
