Played the demo for trials, wasn't a fan.
Played the demo for ff7, I enjoyed it. But damn they fucked the story up massively from what I've seen. I'll probably play it all at some point but my expectations are low.
Just finished xenoblade a few days ago. I highly enjoyed it. Great rpg. It does show it's age a bit in places and does suffer a little from pacing issues and grinding can be annoying in the late game but overall very good. I havent gotten around to the added content yet.

Don't worry, if you aren't a purist or hate the possibility of changes you won't find the story a mess. People are just exaggerating over it.

How do you feel about Kingdom Hearts? That will determine if you like or dislike FFVIIR's new story. It's Kingdom Hearts.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Persona 5 royal is the best reboot/remake jrpg in 2020 and dont even say its not a remake it just means you havent played it

It's not a remake. It's more akin to a GOTY edition with the DLC but this is just extra content. If PS5R is a remake then so would Tokyo Mirage Sessions on Switch or Persona 4 Golden or Dragon Quest XI S. Extra content is not remaking it. It's adding to the existing game.

Well it could be technically called a remaster since on Royal they didn't put a PS3 version so they upgraded a lot of the visuals. But yes I would also call it a GOTY edition.

Have you played both original and royal to compare them? Almost everything is improved in royal, graphics, combat, new mechanics, slightly rewritten story, new characters and areas, more activities, new palace and semester that expands the story and so much more. Its either a remake or a reboot. If xenoblade is a remake then so is persona 5 royal, characters in royal are also fleshed out just like xenoblade

It’s an expansion bundle edition and yes I have both versions.  Even worse, the only way to get the expansion is to buy the whole game again.  The little tweaks to everything else isn’t uncommon with expansions.

I would say that what Atlus do isn't done by anyone else.
