It resembles a game of chess in many ways, but the pieces are more akin to those used in a game of checkers, at least until 'deposed'.
It is impossible to ascertain the true intrinsic value of each piece taken until your opponent has made their retaliatory move.
It is reactionary and played entirely in post, switching intermittently between damage and damage control.
Everyone is playing for keeps; but the game, by definition, can not have a winner.
