I don't think this is the truth, as they'd alienate ten or twenty million PS3 owners from playing the sequels, but this could be true, as stranger things have happened.

Microsoft gave a no-risk loan of FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS to Take Two at a time when they were desperately in need of liquid cash.

It would not be at all strange for this to turn out true.

But why would take two take fifty million dollars, when they could easily sell two three or four million units on the PS3 and easily make that back...

Because Take Two needed to make money at the time. They would have known at that point that GTAIV was unlikely to make the holidays. Back then there was all sorts of shareholder grumblings about board changes and the possibility of hostile takeovers (which eventually proved justified thanks to EA).

TT simply couldn't wait until April of this year to get their hands on some cash.

Didn't MS give them the $50 million to get the game released simultaneously on both platforms, with the DLC being a secondary affair?  If this is the case, they would have given T2 the cash well before E3 '06, far too early for your scenario to have taken place.

Actually, the DLC was first announced at E3 '06 as well, where Peter Moore made the slip of saying that GTAIV was 360 exclusive rather than just the DLC was 360 exclusive.

The 50 million was a loan, not a gift for exclusive content. And the loan got them some EEC, but they wouldn't screw Sony over some money, Sony was the only system willing to give GTA III a chance, when Nintendo and MS didn't want to touch it. If you all think back, you can remember how no one wanted the game on the system beside Sony. I don't think that R* and TT would do that to the company that helped them.
Just like to point out, If you were the head of a company and were very close to the edge finacially would you A) say no to a company to try to stay faithful to another with at the time alot less hardware? Or B) be grateful your arse was being saved and take the money for in return whatever they wanted.

I just find it so weird.

Take-Two has no loyalty.

I wouldn't say no loyalty. But when your back is against the wall you need to take all the help you can get.

What's more important? Staying alive or being loyal?

Most people don't have that kind of loyalty, let alone companies which are by in large built to be ammoral and to just make the most money they can.

I understand business.

But I also understand that GTA wouldn't have been as huge as if it was, if the game never came out. And with no other console manufacturer looking to take this game on, except for Sony, you'd think that they'd have some sort of loyalty to them, for helping make GTA as big of a game as it is today. But I digress. This is the business world. Money talks, and favors are quickly forgotten. It's sad though, I thought that TT had a soul.

And GTA4 had a huge chance of non existance if MS didnt bail them out.

Bailed out at E3 06 when this was announced?

I think not.

Have you know idea Take 2 was in a financial hole, also their were rumours flying they had illegally put up money to gain floor space at E3. They needed that 50 mill to help produce what we will all play in April.

I reaaaally doubt that ever happens, as a developer you simply don't alienate more than 50% of your potential buyers (arcade, those not having live, all the PS3 users)
Besides, If this was true, why wouldn't Microsoft exploit the hell of this right now, that would be the best publicity they'd ever need
I think they will have a lot of extra missions, not history relevant, but fun none the less, and it will not be a single download, they'll just keep coming and coming..
I might be wrong, but i doubt so

Listen to the voice of reason, then do as I say.

R* said the new stuff will be 10hours each, they said GTA4 would be 80hours, based on that fact alone we can tell just how small the DLC will be, there is no massive added map, if there is any new land mass it will be small, kinda like the center island in GTA:VC. Maybe some new cars, weapons or heli's to go with the new missions or something like that aswell.
Um LINK?

Anyone who complains about not getting a link obviously is just a blind sheep who listens to all the rederick and rumor mills then takes them as fact. I found this one in less than a minute.

I also read the OXM review article here.

Notice the site link. Makes you go duh!

I believe the DLC will be timed exclusive missions packs with some extras(cars, jobs, minigames, etc.) 10 hours of content probably translates to about 15-20 missions or so. The twist will probably be a new character(perhaps a minor character from the main game.) Maybe even an all new character or create-a-character. They'll probably add some new indoor areas, but nothing like the size of a city. That's my take, anyway.
Think: GTA4:Liberty City Stories (1&2)

This came from OXM? LOL. I stopped reading that mage because of inaccuracy. Nuff said. So MS wont tell us how lomg it is. Rockstars lips are sealed and OXM know and tell us. Hmmm.

Only a rumour, I highly doubt that DLC will include a new city with over 20 missions. That would take up to 7GB's to download and a long time say three hours on average to download.
