Forums - Gaming - MGS4 to Release a Week Early? (LE Only) - Headset Preorders Confirmed

According to EBGames/Gamestop.com, the limited edition version of MGS4 will ship a week early, stating a shipping date of June 6, 2008. Also, EB/Gamestop is now taking preorders for the licensed Metal Gear Solid 4 bluetooth headset, retailing for $59.99 with a delivery date of June 9, 2008. I posted a link to the official designer's blog earlier this week, featuring some rather unusual dimensions, leading many to believe the design is a fake. However, this information proves otherwise. The headset boasts some rather impressive specs: Bluetooth 2.0 160 Hours Standby 8 Hours Talk Time 30' Range Also, the headset comes complete with USB charging cable, allowing you to charge via PS3 or PC.

Damn, they might have just convinced me to buy a limited edition if this is true.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Could just be a rather wormy way to lure eager fans into laying down an extra $25 on a preorder or to insure people are tied to Gamestop when it comes to buying it, as the LE is exclusive. Konami has yet to confirm said date change. Keep tuned in to Metal Gear Mondays for a possible confirmation at the official US PlayStation Blog.

Metal Gear Online starter pack comes with MGS4. The headset is $60 seperately from the game, anyway. Those specs are nice, and it would also work with phones since it's bluetooth. That's tempting because I don't currently have a headset for my phone and only a USB headset for PS3 (actually PS2 one).

Also, I already preordered this probably overpriced LE. Gamestop also includes an art book. *sigh*
