Is this the fastes million seller on the PS3? Maybe Resistance was faster. It comes out today in the US, add that and online sales and this game should do 2.5 million in its lifetime or even 3 (downloadable games are available forever versus retail versions that disappear quicker). I can see people who buy a PS3 in the future buying this in high numbers too (holdover GT fans from past generations), it will sell decent between now and GT 5's arrival (online with better legs than retail, but retail having the better frontloaded sales). I'm sure some people waiting for MGS 4 to buy PS3s are also Gran Turismo fans.

You make it sound like all Sony fans share the same brain or something (hive mind), I know it's shocking that there are different opinions among Sony zombies... What's also shocking is a casual-friendly game on the console with the bigger install base outsold a hardcore racing sim on a console with a smaller install base...

I know what you mean, i would also expect people that are on the fence for buying a PS3 and waiting for MGS4 or GTA4 that are racer fans (in the EU at least) to pick this title up also as it is a good price and a great game :D

He will be including the US, Japan and EU launch of the game! (being the 1st week it was on sale everywhere) will go check and see if it was!

Na, it became a million seller on the launch in the PAL regions but only with the added sales from the other weeks in Japan and the US!

So in essence GT5:P is the only game launched on the PS3 so far to pass the million mark so quickly! With Assassins Creed being next!

Fastest games to reach 1 mil on PS3 (summed sales for all regions):
Assasin's Creed: 4 weeks
Call of Duty 4: 5 weeks
DMC4: 7 weeks
Uncharted: 8 weeks
PES 2008: 9 weeks
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue: 10 weeks*
NFS: Pro Street: 11 weeks
Resistance: 12 weeks

*without American sales and only with 3 first weeks for Others. It should change to 2 or 3 weeks with American numbers avalible.
