Forums - Gaming - Multi-Platform Games the way of the future?

With skyrocketing development cost what percentage of future games will be multi-platform?  We already saw Team Ninja jump ship with their next game being multi-platform.  Will 2008 be the last year of exclusives especially with so many development teams being bought left and right.  Maybe this is why MS is letting so many of their 1st/2nd party developers go since it won't really matter moving forward.   I always been a believer in having games available for everyone and I think in the not so distant future we will really start to see that especially when talking 360/PS3.  Since just about every new game announced is 360/PS3 the worse that can happen is time exclusives which is not too bad honestly.  Basically you will only have a handful of exclusive games a year with everything being able to everyone with the only difference being how each game takes advantage of their hardware etc.  We will get a much better picture of this from E3 and the tokyo show.

I figured it was something high like that.  I looked over the released schedules for this year on IGN and it was almost a mirror image.

I think 90-95% of 360 games going forward will be multi-platform, about 80-90% of PS3 (as they have a lot of first party exclusives) but Wii will buck that trend and it's percentage of exclusives will only increase as it's user base grows and PS2 starts to die off.

Last year alone it had more exclusives than 360/PS3 combined, and that's only the start.
