The average North American games industry salary is $73,600 (about £37,000), a new survey of game wages has revealed.
The Game Developer Salary Survey was conducted by Game Developer in February and March this year, with assistance from research firm Audience Insights. Over 4,860 responses were collected.
The survey reveals that (expectedly) business and marketing positions lead the way in the cash stakes with an average salary of $101,848, while programmers are the highest paid outside of the business circle, averaging $83,383 - they have to write all the zeros and ones, after all.
Other categories in the salary survey include production ($78,716), audio ($73,409) arts and animation ($66,594), game design ($63,649) and quality assurance ($39,063).
