Forums - Gaming - $600 tax credit in may - How will it effect sales?

If I can find a job by that time, I'm probably splurging on a 360 and Ninja Gaiden 2. Maybe I'll get those pectoral implants I've always wanted too.

I don't think it will have much of an effect on sales. I'm sure it will have a positive influence, but nothing really huge.

Well, here its not much better. We are facing serious issues in retirement funding, as the current system will eventually collapse and we young ones will not get anything out of it - yet we have to pay a lot right now and the shithead politicians just raised the retirement amount again...

It's a pretty common problem in most western countries. It's just that, for some reason, people love to bash America for it. The same goes for national debt per capita.

no, that is a bit of a bigger problem in the states than here...especially with what Bush started. so that criticism is justified. Plus look at the trade deficit you guys have over there...staggering. At least we have a trade surplus.

Out of curiosity, what is the national debt per capita in Germany? I can't find info on it. I found the French debt, which is just a few thousand short of American debt per capita. Pretty amazing considering we're finishing up with eight years of President Clownshoe and his free-spending ways.

And the trade deficit should shore itself up somewhat (while yours will drop) given the state of the dollar. Our currency was articificially propped up for too long and now it's officially hit the shitter. Trade should rebound it back in a few years while the high Euro is going to start hurting European trade.

It bugs me that I didn't make enough last year to receive one, especially considering I'm the prime demographic to spend this on useless junk, thus putting it right back into the economy, like intended.

I wanted to get a DS. ;_;

 It pisses me off even more that I made to much. I don't get one either.

I hope people realize this is not free money, it's a credit on next years taxes. You will get 600 less in 2009. (for your 2008 taxes)

As for the healthcare issue in this thread. Mine is free with my job. We live in a classless system. You want what I have, go to school and work for it. It's available to everyone who applies themselves.

I didn't grow up rich, or with any advantages. I just worked hard to get where I am, and other then handicapped people, any american can achieve what I have achieved (millions have achieve more).

I tire of hearing what this country is supposed to do for you. This country has built a system that allows you to do for yourself. If you don't take advantage of it, there is no one to blame but yourself.

 A trade deficit isn't really a big problem.  The US national debt is a big problem but nothing close to the problem of the unfunded liabilities and that is not all Bushes fault (the fault can be traced to every Congress back to during FDRs time).  Remember, at least in the US, Congress funds the budgets.

In total it is 1,500 Billion Euro. which makes it about 18,700 Euro per Capita

Concerning the trade deficit, I just read it actually INCREASED by 6% for the states just last month....
